Mitsubishi Air Conditioner in Israel: What You Get and at What Price, vs Tadiran and Electra
A Mitsubishi air conditioner in Israeli stores is usually an SRK-series model from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, a Japanese company separate from Mitsubishi Electric. On the product pages we checked, prices range from about ₪1,990 (NIS) for a model of about 8,500 BTU to about ₪5,390 for a model of about 17,000 BTU, with a 3-year warranty from the official importer. The standout advantage per the specs is detailed, low noise figures at low speed.
On this page you’ll find the models on sale now and what their specs say, the difference between the two Mitsubishi companies, the connection to the Tornado group, and how Mitsubishi compares with Tadiran and Electra on price and efficiency. (Israeli stores size ACs in “horsepower”, where 1 HP ≈ 9,000 BTU/h.) We didn’t test the ACs ourselves: the comparison is based on product pages at Israeli stores and the brand’s Israeli website, as of November 2026.
The short answer
Air conditioners, November 2026- Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (SRK models)
- About ₪1,990–5,390
- 22–24 dB on the models we checked
- 3 years from the importer, activation within 30 days
- R410A on some models
- Single-phase 230V on the models we checked
Models worth checking
Picked on specs, Israeli importer warranty and shop prices in Israel in November 2026. We did not test them at home. Prices change, check before you buy.
Mitsubishi SRK25ZSP
8,530 BTU cooling (2.5 kW), 9,553 BTU heating, 23–45 dB indoor unit, 47 dB outdoor unit, rating A, R410A
Why: A noise figure of 23 dB at the lowest cooling speed, and an outdoor unit of 47 dB, lower than most models we saw. On sale it’s close in price to advanced local models.
Watch out: Cooling is below 9,000 BTU, and per the page SEER is 5.5. WiFi and Shabbat mode aren’t mentioned.
Mitsubishi SRK45ZSP
15,354 BTU cooling (range 3,070–16,377), 17,060 BTU heating, 24/39/44 dB indoor, 51 dB outdoor, rating A
Why: A wide inverter range that drops to about 3,000 BTU, so in a room that’s already cool it can run at low output quietly, with 24 dB at low speed.
Watch out: SEER, SCOP and refrigerant aren’t listed on the page. The Tornado TOP J INV 18, at roughly the same output, costs about ₪900 less.
Mitsubishi SRK50ZS-S
17,060 BTU cooling (range 5,800–18,766), 19,789 BTU heating, A++, 22–45 dB indoor, 51 dB outdoor, R410A
Why: A++ and a full noise table, with 22 dB at the lowest speed and heating higher than cooling.
Watch out: At about ₪5,390 it’s about ₪2,000 more than local 2 HP models with similar or better efficiency figures. WiFi and Shabbat mode aren’t mentioned.
Prices in Israel: Air conditioners
SRK25ZSP for a room of up to about 12 m²; very quiet at low speed, but output below 9,000 BTU.
SRK45ZSP for a room of about 20–23 m²; 1.5–2 times the price of a local model of the same output.
SRK50ZS-S for a living room of about 24–26 m²; A++ and full noise figures, but very expensive relative to output.
Price ranges seen in Israeli shops and price-comparison sites in November 2026, VAT included, usually without installation.
What to look at before buying
| What to check | What it is | Our recommendation |
|---|---|---|
| Heavy or Electric | Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Mitsubishi Electric are two different companies with different AC lines. SRK models belong to Heavy Industries. | Check the model code. SRK means Mitsubishi Heavy, and for service and warranty, find out who the model’s official importer is. |
| Noise | Mitsubishi product pages publish a noise table for each speed, which is rare in the market. | If quiet in the bedroom is the main consideration, compare the low-speed figure: 22–24 dB on the models we checked. |
| BTU vs price | Mitsubishi models are much more expensive than local models of the same output. | Calculate the price per 1,000 BTU. The SRK50ZS-S costs about ₪316 per 1,000 BTU, compared with about ₪180 for the Electra Platinum INV 250. |
| Refrigerant | The SRK25ZSP and SRK50ZS-S use R410A per the store page. Many new models have switched to R32. | It doesn’t affect cooling, but check the figure if you prefer a newer refrigerant. |
| Features | WiFi and Shabbat mode aren’t mentioned on the product pages we checked. | If you need Shabbat mode or phone control, confirm with the seller before buying. |
| Warranty and service | A full 3-year warranty from the official importer, subject to activation within 30 days. | Activate the warranty right away. Local brands sometimes give 5–7 years, and that’s part of the price comparison. |
Which Mitsubishi is sold in Israel: Heavy or Electric?
At the stores we checked, Mitsubishi ACs are SRK models from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. Mitsubishi Heavy and Mitsubishi Electric are two different Japanese companies, with separate product lines, importers and service.
How to know what you’re buying:
- Model code: SRK is the model code for Mitsubishi Heavy’s wall-mounted ACs. For example, in Hong Kong’s energy-label database, the SRK50ZSH-S is registered under the Mitsubishi Heavy brand.
- The Israeli site: the Mitsubishi HEAVY AC site in Israel is linked from the “Tornado Group” menu on the Tornado site, and its copyright is registered to Tornado Consumer Products Ltd. The site shows wall-mounted, mini-central, VRF and industrial AC systems.
- On the store page: Home Center (an Israeli home-improvement chain) lists only “Mitsubishi” and “the official importer”, without naming the importer.
In the sources we checked, we found no Mitsubishi Electric wall units currently sold at the major chains. If you’re offered a Mitsubishi AC from another source, find out who actually provides the warranty, and whether it’s an official import or a parallel import (yevu makbil).
The models in stores and what the specs say
At Home Center we saw four SRK models: the SRK25ZSP, SRK35ZSP, SRK45ZSP and SRK50ZS-S. We read the specs for three of them. We couldn’t open the SRK35ZSP page.
The figures per the store pages:
- SRK25ZSP: 8,530 BTU cooling, 9,553 BTU heating, SEER 5.5 and SCOP 3.8 per the page, rating A, R410A refrigerant. Indoor noise of 23–45 dB in cooling, and outdoor 47 dB. A sale price of ₪1,990, vs ₪2,490 at full price.
- SRK45ZSP: 15,354 BTU cooling (range 3,070–16,377), 17,060 BTU heating, rating A. Indoor noise of 24/39/44 dB, and outdoor 51 dB. About ₪3,490.
- SRK50ZS-S: 17,060 BTU cooling (range 5,800–18,766), 19,789 BTU heating, A++, R410A refrigerant. Indoor noise of 22 dB at the lowest speed and 45 dB at the highest, and outdoor 51 dB in cooling. About ₪5,390.
All the models are single-phase, 230V, and come with a full 3-year warranty from the official importer, subject to activation within 30 days. WiFi and Shabbat mode aren’t mentioned on any of the pages.
Note that the store pages don’t state horsepower. By BTU, the SRK25 is about 1 HP, the SRK45 about 1.75 HP and the SRK50 about 2 HP. Which size suits your room? That’s explained in our guide on how many horsepower an AC needs.
Which SRK model for which room
Stores don’t state horsepower for Mitsubishi models, so choose by BTU, roughly 650 BTU per m² on a mid-level floor, as in the calculator on our site.
Based on the specs we checked:
- SRK25ZSP, 8,530 BTU: a room of up to about 13 m² on a mid-level floor, and about 11 m² on a top floor. Suits a bedroom or kids’ room.
- SRK45ZSP, 15,354 BTU: a room of up to about 23 m² on a mid-level floor, and about 20 m² on a top floor. Suits a large master bedroom, study or small living room.
- SRK50ZS-S, 17,060 BTU: a space of up to about 26 m² on a mid-level floor, and about 22 m² on a top floor. Suits a closed living room.
- SRK35ZSP: listed in the store, but we couldn’t open its page. Per the naming system, the number matches output in kilowatts, i.e. about 3.5 kW, which is about 12,000 BTU. Confirm the figure with the seller.
For a living room open to the kitchen, or a space of 30 m² or more, we didn’t find a larger Mitsubishi wall unit in stores. Check with authorized dealers, or go to our 2.5 HP and 3 HP air conditioner guides. The full table is in our guide on how many horsepower an AC needs.
The standout advantage: published, low noise
What sets Mitsubishi’s product pages apart is a full noise table for each speed, for both the indoor and outdoor unit. Most local AC pages we checked have no noise figure at all.
Why it matters: in a bedroom, the AC runs most of the night at low speed, after the room has cooled. The difference between 22–24 dB and 35–40 dB is very noticeable in a quiet room. For the outdoor unit, 47 dB on the SRK25ZSP is lower than the 56 dB published for models like the Electra Platinum INV 180 and INV 250. The neighbors will notice the difference.
Caveats:
- Noise figures from different manufacturers aren’t always measured the same way. Some publish sound pressure at one meter and some sound power. The SRK50ZS-S page publishes both.
- Most local manufacturers don’t publish a low-speed figure, so we have nothing to compare against. Some local models may also be quiet; they just didn’t publish it.
If quiet is your first consideration, Mitsubishi is one of the only brands that lets you check it before buying. More tips for a quiet bedroom are in our 1 HP air conditioner guide.
Mitsubishi vs Tadiran, Electra and Tornado: price and efficiency
At the same output, a Mitsubishi AC costs 1.3 to 2 times as much as a local AC, and its efficiency figures aren’t higher. You’re paying for published low noise and the brand.
Comparisons based on the models we checked:
- About 17,000–18,500 BTU: the Mitsubishi SRK50ZS-S costs about ₪5,390. The Electra Platinum INV 250 delivers 18,500 BTU, SEER 7.3 and SCOP 5.2 at about ₪3,290. The Tadiran Air One INV 240 delivers 18,900 BTU at about ₪2,760.
- About 15,000 BTU: the Mitsubishi SRK45ZSP costs about ₪3,490. The Tornado TOP J INV 18 delivers 15,013 BTU, SEER 6.7, Shabbat mode and WiFi at about ₪2,590.
- About 8,500–9,800 BTU: the Mitsubishi SRK25ZSP costs about ₪1,990–2,490. The Tadiran Air One INV 140 delivers 9,840 BTU and SEER 6.9 at about ₪1,440.
The warranty also differs: 3 years with Mitsubishi, compared with 5–7 years on some local series. Per Tadiran, its wall units get 5–7 years, subject to registration within 60 days. With Tornado, 7 years on the TOP J series.
Bottom line: Mitsubishi suits anyone willing to pay more for documented quiet. If you’re looking for the highest efficiency per shekel, or Shabbat mode, you’ll find more from the local importers. The comparison between them is in our Tadiran vs Electra air conditioner guide.
What to check before buying a Mitsubishi AC
Make sure it’s an official import, that the warranty is activated within 30 days, and that the features that matter to you, like WiFi and Shabbat mode, exist on the specific model.
Checklist:
- Official import: the Home Center page says “3-year full warranty by the official importer”. If the price elsewhere is much lower, ask who provides the warranty.
- Activating the warranty: the warranty is subject to activation within 30 days. Register it right after installation.
- Capacity: the pages don’t state HP. Calculate by BTU, roughly 650 BTU per m² on a mid-level floor.
- Shabbat mode and WiFi: not mentioned on the pages we checked. If you need them, ask the seller for written confirmation.
- Installation: a Mitsubishi AC is installed like any wall unit. Per pro.co.il (an Israeli contractors’ site), installation up to 1.5 HP costs about ₪800–1,400, and 2–4 HP about ₪1,200–1,800. Details are in our AC installation cost guide.
- Service: the brand’s Israeli site lists a service and sales number. Check technician availability in your area.
Per the brand’s Israeli site, Mitsubishi’s inverter technology saves up to 34% in energy. That’s a manufacturer marketing figure. The explanation of inverters and electricity use is in our inverter AC guide.
The bottom line
Manufacturer: Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (SRK models). Store price: About ₪1,990–5,390.
