Bosch Washing Machine in Israel: Which Model to Buy in 2026

For most families the Bosch washing machine to buy is an ⁦8–9⁩ kg Series 4 model with the IL suffix, like the WAN28278IL or WAN28289IL; anyone who needs 10 kg or maximum quiet should move up to Series 6.

Bosch is the brand with the most models at the top of the washing machine lists on Israeli price comparison sites. In the list we saw in November 2026, seven of the top twenty-five models were Bosch, most of them ⁦8–10⁩ kg. In practice that means many sellers, price competition, and good availability of spare parts and technicians through BSH.

What you get on almost every current Bosch machine, per the spec:

• EcoSilence Drive brushless motor, quiet and less wear.
• Iron Assist, a steam program that reduces wrinkles.
• SpeedPerfect and a SuperQuick 15 or 30-minute program.
• ActiveWater Plus, which adjusts the amount of water to the load.
• A drum-clean program (DrumClean) and delay start of up to 24 hours.

Remember that we compare specs and prices, not lab results. A machine that is good on paper also needs correct installation and maintenance to work well for years.

In practice, approach the choice in three steps: first capacity (8, 9 or 10 kg by household size), then series (4 or 6 by budget and noise), and only at the end a specific model by final price and warranty. That way you avoid comparing dozens of nearly identical codes. In most cases you will end up with one of the five models in this guide, all currently sold in many stores with BSH warranty at a large share of sellers.

Series 4 is the solid base, Series 6 adds quiet, capacity and spin, and Series 8 is the top line; in Israel most buyers settle on Series 4 or 6.

How to identify the series from the code: Series 4 models usually start with WAN, Series 6 with WGG, and Series 8 with WAW or WAX. This is a rule of thumb, not a law, so always check the series name in the spec.

Per the specs and prices we saw:

• Series 4: WAN28278IL (8 kg, 1,400 RPM, ⁦52 dB⁩) about ₪⁦1,870–2,450⁩; WAN28289IL (9 kg, ⁦52 dB⁩) from about ₪1,880.
• Series 6: WGG244Z9IL (9 kg, 1,400 RPM, ⁦50 dB⁩, Reload, AntiStain) about ₪⁦2,850–3,590⁩; WGG256Z9IL (10 kg, up to 1,600 RPM) about ₪⁦2,930–3,940.⁩
• Series 8: WAW24469IL (9 kg, VarioPerfect, AllergyPlus) about ₪⁦3,620–4,500.⁩

What is worth the roughly ₪1,000 extra for Series 6? Reload, which lets you add a forgotten sock after the program has started; AntiStain, which adapts the program to the type of stain; and lower noise. If the machine is on a closed service balcony and you do not wash many tough stains, Series 4 will do.

Interestingly, the 10 kg Series 6 model (WGG256Z9IL) starts at a price close to the 9 kg model in the same series. If you are already going Series 6, the step up to larger capacity is small.

Also note that Bosch replaces models frequently, and sometimes the same model returns with a different digit in the code and minor changes. So if the model you chose is sold out, look for the equivalent model in the same series and capacity, and check that the spec (RPM, noise, Reload) has not dropped. Older models still on sale, like the WAW24469IL, are sometimes sold by fewer stores, so confirm stock before paying.

Another difference between the series is the display and controls. Series 4 has TouchControl buttons and a basic LED display per the spec, and Series 6 a larger LED display with more options. It does not change wash quality, but it affects daily convenience, especially if you use delay start and special programs.

A Bosch 8 kg is enough for ⁦1–3⁩ people, and a Bosch 9 kg suits a family of 4; the price gap in Series 4 is very small, so most families will benefit from 9 kg.

These are the two most common Bosch washing machine searches in Israel, and not by chance: both capacities have popular models at similar prices. Per store prices in November 2026, the 8 kg WAN28278IL starts at about ₪1,870, and the 9 kg WAN28289IL starts at about ₪1,880. In other words, the entry-point difference is almost zero, even if the 9 kg model's price range is wider across stores.

When to choose a Bosch 8 kg anyway:

• When you want a guaranteed 1,400 RPM at the lowest price: on the WAN28278IL the spec is clear, while on the WAN28289 sellers are split between 1,200 and 1,400.
• When you are a couple or small family not expecting to grow.
• When the niche is small and weight and delivery matter.

When to choose a Bosch 9 kg:

• A family of 4 or more, or washing sheets and towels together.
• When you want fewer cycles a week.
• When you are considering Series 6, where the 9 kg model (WGG244Z9IL) is the entry point.

For families that wash lots of sportswear, work clothes or kids' clothes, there is another consideration: dedicated programs. Series 6 models list AntiStain and Hygiene Plus per the spec, and Series 8 AllergyPlus. If someone at home has allergies or sensitive skin, a hygiene program or extra rinse can be a real consideration, not just another line in the spec.

Another tip: if you search for "Bosch 8 kg" on price comparison sites, you will also find older models like the WAN24208II or WAN28178IL. Some stores still sell them, sometimes at a higher price than the new models. Compare spec and price against the WAN28278IL before buying an older model just because it is familiar.

Bosch's official importer in Israel is BSH, and models for the Israeli market are usually marked with the IL suffix; a model with another suffix may be a parallel import (yevu makbil) with the seller's warranty.

On comparison pages we saw the difference clearly. On the WAN28278IL, WGG244Z9IL and WGG256Z9IL, sellers list warranty from BSH, the official importer, sometimes with extended VIP warranty. In contrast, a model like the 8 kg WAN24170BY is sold mainly through third-party sellers, without mention of BSH, with a 12-month store warranty. Its price starts lower, at about ₪1,630.

The difference in practice:

• Warranty: with the official importer, warranty and service are BSH's; with parallel import, the seller's or a service company it works with.
• Spare parts: BSH stocks parts for the models it imports. For a model not officially imported, some parts may be delayed.
• Software and manual: models for other markets may come with a manual in another language. The Standards Institution of Israel recommends making sure there is a Hebrew manual and an Israeli plug.
• Promotions: BSH extended-warranty promotions apply only to products bought from participating retailers.

On promotions: in terms BSH published for the Siemens site, for example, 4 extra years of warranty were offered for ₪199 during a set period, subject to installation within 30 days and presenting an invoice or warranty sticker. Such terms vary between promotions and brands, so ask for the current terms.

A question to ask every seller before paying: "Is the warranty BSH's or yours?" If the answer is BSH, ask for it to appear on the invoice. If it is a store warranty, find out who actually does the repairs, how long a technician takes to arrive, and what happens if the store closes. For most buyers, a few hundred shekels is worth that peace of mind.

And if you get a particularly good offer on an IL-suffix Bosch from an unfamiliar seller, check that it is on BSH's list of authorized retailers or states so in writing. On comparison pages some sellers explicitly state "authorized dealer of the official importer".

All the Bosch models in this guide are listed as class A on the new European label (A–G), so compare them by noise, spin and capacity rather than by the letter.

Israel has been moving to the European label since 2022, but the old regulations were not repealed, so product pages sometimes show "previous rating A++" alongside a new A for the same model. That is the case on the WGG244Z9IL and WAN24208II pages, for example. There is no contradiction: these are two different scales. On the new label, A is the highest rating, so these Bosch machines are at the top of the scale.

What does change between the models:

• Washing noise: ⁦52 dB⁩ on the WAN28278IL and WAN28289, ⁦50 dB⁩ on the WGG244Z9IL per sellers. ⁦2 dB⁩ is a noticeable difference when the machine is in an open kitchen.
• Spin: 1,400 RPM on Series 4 (WAN28278IL), up to 1,600 RPM on the WGG256Z9IL, and 1,200 on the WAW24469IL.
• Water: ActiveWater Plus, found on almost every model, measures the load and adjusts the amount of water.

For limescale, Bosch offers a DrumClean program on every model. With the hard water in most of the country, run it once a month and clean the pump filter every ⁦1–2⁩ months. It is simple and prevents a large share of service calls.

Also remember that the label rating is measured on the Eco ⁦40-60⁩ program, which is long. In daily use most people choose shorter programs, where actual consumption depends mainly on temperature. Washing at ⁦30–40⁩°C in a Bosch with ActiveWater Plus saves more than any upgrade between models, without spending an extra shekel.

• WTH85225: 8 kg, heat pump, ⁦63 dB⁩, about ₪⁦2,190–4,490.⁩
• WQG2328IL: 9 kg, heat pump, ⁦62 dB⁩, from about ₪2,620.
• WQG2429IL: 9 kg, Series 6, heat pump with R290 gas, ⁦64 dB⁩, about ₪⁦3,640–4,950.⁩
• WQB245B0IL: 9 kg, Series 8, from about ₪5,200.

The advantage of the same brand is mainly physical fit: a Bosch stacking kit fits a stack of a Bosch washer and dryer of the same width and depth. For warranty and service, the same importer (BSH) handles both, which simplifies dealing with faults.

Before deciding, remember that a heat pump dryer uses less electricity than a regular condenser dryer, but costs more and takes longer. Also, if you stack a dryer on a washer, make sure the washer's feet are well leveled and the machine does not shake during spin, because vibration passes to the dryer above. The stacking kit fixes the two appliances together but does not correct an uneven floor. And with two appliances, think about electricity too: a separate outlet for each is recommended.

Also check which way the dryer door opens. On the WQG2328IL, per Bug, the hinge is on the right. In a stack above a washing machine, the door direction determines which side is convenient for moving laundry from washer to dryer.

Bosch especially suits people who want a brand with long-established importer service and a wide range of ⁦8–10⁩ kg models; LG and Samsung may suit you better if you are looking for a slim model, auto-dosing or a washer dryer.

Some differences that emerge from the specs and prices:

• Entry price for 9 kg: the LG WFS9014WW starts at about ₪1,900 and the LG WF9014WB at about ₪1,850, very close to the Bosch WAN28289IL. No clear price advantage for either.
• Depth: LG has Slim models about ⁦47.5 cm⁩ deep. If the niche is shallow, that can decide it.
• Auto-dosing: found on the Samsung WW90DG6U95LK (about ₪⁦2,270–3,090⁩) and the LG WF13314WBC. It does not appear on the Bosch models in this guide.
• 10 kg at a low price: the LG WF10114WBW starts at about ₪2,100, vs about ₪2,930 for the Bosch WGG256Z9IL, which in return offers a spin of up to 1,600 RPM.
• Washer dryer: LG and Samsung have a wider range.
