LG washing machine in Israel: which model to buy and how it compares to Samsung

For most families, the LG to buy is the WF9014WB (9 kg, 1,400 rpm), or the WFS9014WW if your niche is shallow; for a large family, the WF10114WBW (10 kg).

On Israeli price comparison sites, LG is the second most prominent washing machine brand after Bosch. In the list we saw in November 2026, five LG models appeared in the top 25, ranging from 8 to 13 kg. All are rated A on the new EU energy label, and per the specs almost all share the same base package:

• Inverter Direct Drive motor, connected directly to the drum with no belt.
• AI DD, which detects load weight and fabric softness and adjusts the drum motion.
• 6 Motion, six different wash movements.
• Steam on most models.
• A 14-minute quick program for up to about 2 kg.
• A drum-clean program and Smart Diagnosis via smartphone.

What this means: even LG's basic model gets features other brands reserve for higher series. The main differences between models are capacity, depth and spin speed. Slim models (WFS) spin at 1,200 rpm and standard models (WF) at 1,400 rpm.

To choose between models, you only need three questions. How many people live at home? That sets 8, 9, 10 or 13 kg. How deep is the niche? That sets Slim or standard. Do you have, or plan to get, a dryer? That decides whether 1,400 rpm matters. Usually these three answers narrow it down to one or two models, and then you just compare the final price and warranty between stores.

An important note on prices: on LG comparison pages we also saw very cheap offers available only in Eilat, for in-store pickup. Eilat prices are low because the city is VAT-exempt, and they are not relevant to most buyers. When comparing, make sure the offer includes delivery to your area.

An LG Slim model suits a shallow niche and people who line-dry; a standard model with 1,400 rpm suits those with the depth and a dryer.

Per the specs listed by most sellers, WFS8014WB and WFS9014WW are about ⁦47.5 cm⁩ (18.7 in) deep, and WF9014WB and WF10114WBW are about ⁦56.5 cm⁩ (22.2 in) deep. That is a gap of about ⁦9 cm⁩ (3.5 in), which can be the difference between a machine that fits the niche and one that sticks out. Note that one seller lists ⁦53.5 cm⁩ for the Slim models, so check the measurement on the importer's page before ordering.

What you give up with the Slim:

• Spin: 1,200 rpm instead of 1,400. On a clothesline you barely notice; in a dryer it lengthens each cycle a little.
• Price: nothing. WFS9014WW starts around ₪1,900 and WF9014WB around ₪1,850, so the slim version is actually slightly more expensive at the entry point.

A simple rule:

• Niche less than ⁦55 cm⁩ (21.7 in) deep: Slim.
• Enough depth and you have or will have a dryer: standard with 1,400 rpm.
• Enough depth and no dryer: both work, choose by that week's price.

Also check the door opening. Per the specs, the LG door is about ⁦30 cm⁩ (11.8 in) wide and opens up to 150 degrees. In a narrow niche with a wall on one side, make sure the door opens enough to pull out a comforter comfortably. For the full guide on sizes, see our 8 kg washing machine guide.

Another common question is whether a Slim is less stable on spin. Per the specs, LG Slim models are limited to 1,200 rpm, which is partly what lets them run in a narrow body. We have no measured vibration data, but the general rule holds for any machine: proper leveling, a stable floor and removing the shipping bolts matter more than depth.

In LG codes, the numeric part usually hints at capacity and spin speed, and the letters indicate series and color, but the official spec sheet is always the deciding source.

A rule of thumb from the models sold today:

• WF: standard front-loader. WFS: slim version.
• 8014, 9014, 10114, 13314: the first digits match the capacity (8, 9, 10, 13 kg).
• The digit 4 at the end of the number appears on models with a 1,400 rpm max spin, but on WFS models the spec sheet lists 1,200 rpm, so it is not a rule.
• The final letters (WB, WW, WBW, WBC) mostly refer to body and door color and version.

Why it matters: sites sometimes list models with almost identical names, and it is easy to mix them up. On the WF10114WBW comparison page, for example, some sellers wrote WFS10114WBW, which looks like a typo. Older models with codes like F-1409 or F94 still appear at some stores, sometimes at prices that are not worth it compared with newer models.

Our advice: search by the exact code, compare the specs on the importer's page or a major store's product page, and check that the seller lists the official importer. If the price is much lower than usual, ask whether it is a parallel import (yevu makbil), a display unit or a model for another market.

Also pay attention to color and finish, which appear at the end of the code. Sometimes the exact same model is sold in white and in black or graphite, with a price gap of hundreds of shekels. If color doesn't matter to you, compare versions, because sometimes the less popular one is on sale.

Even once you have the exact code, confirm the color and door type in the photo and specs before paying, because stores sometimes use a generic photo of the series. Getting a different color than expected is one of the common reasons for returns.

LG is sold in Israel through an official importer, and product pages list Brimag Digital as the warranty provider; motor warranty terms vary between sellers, so ask for them in writing.

What we saw on product pages in November 2026:

• LG WF9014WB: one seller lists a 3-year warranty, another 1 year plus 9 years on the motor.
• LG WF10114WBW: one seller lists 1 year plus 9 years on the motor through the official importer.
• LG WF13314WBC: some sellers list a 5-year warranty, another 1 year plus 9 years on the motor; one of them names Brimag as the official importer.
• On the LG F-1696SWDE washer-dryer combo, Bug (a large Israeli electronics chain) lists a full year plus 9 years on the motor through Brimag Digital.

What this means: LG's direct-drive motor gets a very long warranty from some sellers, but not automatically. Ask:

• Who provides the warranty: the official importer or the store?
• How long is the warranty on the machine, and how long on the motor alone?
• Does the motor warranty include labor or only the part?
• What are technician response times in your area?

If you find an LG model at a very low price with no mention of the official importer, it may be a parallel import. That is not necessarily bad, but warranty and service will be the distributor's. The Standards Institution of Israel (Machon HaTkanim) also recommends making sure every washing machine comes with a Hebrew manual and an Israeli plug.

If something breaks, contact the importer's service center first, not the store, unless the store itself provides the warranty. Keep the invoice, model number and serial number handy (on a sticker inside the door or on the back). If the machine arrived damaged in delivery, take photos before installation and report it to the seller right away.

Keep in mind that even a 9-year motor warranty usually does not cover other parts, such as the pump, control board, door gasket or heating element, where many faults occur. So a longer full warranty on the whole machine is usually worth more than a long warranty on the motor alone. Compare both offers by what is actually covered.

LG and Samsung are very close in price and specs; LG stands out with Slim models and a direct-drive motor with a long motor warranty from some sellers, while Samsung stands out with auto-dosing and AI programs already in mid-range models.

Comparison based on the specs and prices we saw:

• 9 kg, 1,400 rpm: LG WF9014WB about ₪⁦1,850–2,990⁩; Samsung WW90DG6U95LK about ₪⁦2,270–3,090.⁩
• Motor: LG uses Inverter Direct Drive; Samsung uses Digital Inverter.
• Extras at 9 kg: LG has steam and AI DD; Samsung, per the specs, has Auto Dispense, AI Wash, EcoBubble and Wi-Fi with SmartThings.
• Importer: for LG, Brimag Digital is listed; for Samsung, sellers list Samsung Israel or NewPro as the official importer.
• Washer-dryer combos: both brands have a range; see our washer-dryer combo guide.

When to choose LG: when price is the first consideration, when you have a shallow niche, or when a long motor warranty matters to you. When to choose Samsung: when auto-dosing and Wi-Fi matter to you and you are willing to pay about ₪400 more at the entry point.

If you are deciding on price alone, check two equivalent models in the exact same week: LG WF9014WB and Samsung WW90DG6U95LK. Both brands' sales change constantly, and sometimes the roughly ₪400 gap closes or even flips. In that case, Samsung's auto-dosing and Wi-Fi become an almost free extra.

In the end, the differences between the two brands are smaller than the differences between models within each brand. A 9 kg machine with 1,400 rpm and an official-importer warranty will serve you well either way; spend most of your time choosing size and depth, and less arguing about the brand.

With LG machines, as with any machine in Israel, most everyday problems come from limescale, a clogged filter and the door gasket; a monthly cleaning program and Smart Diagnosis solve many of them.

Recommended maintenance routine:

• Tub Clean once a month, especially if you wash mostly at ⁦30–40⁩°C (⁦86–104⁩°F).
• Clean the pump filter every ⁦1–2⁩ months. It is usually behind a small cover in the lower corner of the front.
• Wipe the gasket and leave the door and drawer open after washing to prevent odor and mold.
• Measured detergent. The Standards Institution of Israel warns that too much powder leaves white stains.

Smart Diagnosis: per the specs, almost every LG model in this guide includes fault diagnosis through your smartphone. When an error code appears, the app can suggest a fix or send the data to the service center. This sometimes saves a technician visit and in any case shortens the call with customer service.

Vibration on spin: LG's direct-drive motor is quiet, but a machine that is not level, or still has its shipping bolts, will shake hard. Adjust the feet, and when washing a single heavy item, add towels for balance. Per the specs, WF13314WBC has Auto Balance, which detects imbalance before the spin.

One more tip for steam models: the steam program uses extra time and energy, so use it for clothes that really need it, such as work shirts and bedding, not every load. And remember that short programs have a load limit, so a full load in the 14-minute program will not get properly clean.

If you want a dryer next to an LG washer, the FD1609BD 9 kg heat pump dryer sells for about ₪⁦3,340–4,490⁩ at stores; and if there is no room for two appliances, LG has 9/6 and 11/6 kg washer-dryer combos.

Per the dryer comparison page, the LG FD1609BD is a heat pump dryer with a self-cleaning condenser, 14 programs, a removable water tank and about 1,000 watts of power. One seller lists Brimag as the official importer. Another model, FD1809GB, was listed at Bug as "temporarily out of stock" when we checked.

Washer-dryer combos:

• LG F-1696SWDE: 9 kg wash and 6 kg dry, steam and Wi-Fi, about ₪3,000 at Bug.
• LG WD11614GBB: 11 kg wash and 6 kg dry, per Bug.
• LG WT40: a laundry tower with 12 kg wash and 10 kg dry, per stores.

If you plan to stack an LG washer and dryer, check that the stacking kit fits both specific models, especially if one is a Slim, because the depths differ. A standard-depth dryer on top of a slim washer will stick out in front, which can get in the way of a passageway.

If you prefer a dryer from another brand next to your LG washer, that is perfectly possible, as long as there is a stacking kit that fits both models or they stand side by side.
